Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka both crashed out on a dramatic day at the French Open.
Osaka's grand slam winning run, which took in titles at the US Open and Australian Open, ended with a third-round defeat by Katerina Siniakova before Williams was beaten by young American Sofia Kenin.
Novak Djokovic did not enjoy the hotter temperatures in Paris but eased to a straight-sets victory over Salvatore Caruso.

Puppy love
The only downside for Johanna Konta to her memorable run in Paris has been being away from her dog, a dachshund named Bono, after the lead singer of her favourite band U2.
"I got a video of him listening to my on-court interview, and I swear he recognises my voice because you can see his little ears go up," gushed Konta. "Honestly, it's so adorable."
She is planning to get Bono a puppy passport so he can accompany her to Roland Garros next year.
Junior drought
Given all the investment in British tennis, it is somewhat embarrassing that there is not a single representative in the junior boys' or girls' singles this year. The caveat is that Wimbledon finalist Jack Draper, Anton Matusevich and Emma Raducanu, who could have entered, have been concentrating on senior tennis.
Fallen seeds
Women: Naomi Osaka (1), Serena Williams (10), Lesia Tsurenko (27)
Men: Borna Coric (13), Roberto Bautista Agut (18), Dusan Lajovic (30)
Who's up next?
Konta will bid to reach her fourth grand slam quarter-final when she takes on Croatian 23rd seed Donna Vekic on Court Suzanne Lenglen.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will both be heavily favoured to make the last eight when they take on Argentinian duo Leonardo Mayer and Juan Ignacio Londero, respectively.
A tasty-looking meeting pits Stan Wawrinka against Stefanos Tsitsipas, while last year's women's runner-up Sloane Stephens faces former champion Garbine Muguruza.
