David Ferrer has claimed that he produced his best performance at this year's French Open during his 6-2 6-2 6-4 fourth-round victory over Marin Cilic earlier today.
A close encounter had been anticipated between the two, but the experienced Spaniard won through in under two hours.
"I think that it was my best match these two weeks. I didn't expect this," he told reporters.
"Cilic is a very difficult player to play against, but I thought I was really comfortable until the very last point. I played really well on all shots. It's really is good in terms of gaining confidence."
The 33-year-old will now take on Andy Murray in what will be his sixth quarter-final appearance at Roland Garros.
