Sara Errani launched an impressive comeback to claim a spot in the French Open final following a 7-5 1-6 6-3 victory over Samantha Stosur this afternoon.
The Italian professional arguably started better on the clay court in Paris by holding her serve well and committing a number of impressive forehand and backhand shots.
Stosur was able to respond to challenges thrown her way by Errani but after losing a break of serve, the Australian struggled to push her way back and relinquished the opening set 5-7.
While the 21st seed looked set to book her spot in the final of the elite tournament, Stosur made a sensational comeback, which completely threw Errani off her game as she stumbled to a 6-1 defeat in the second.
Following the second-set shock, Errani managed to compose herself and take a three-to-one lead on games in the third set but it didn't take long for Stosur to find her feet yet again and break back to go 3-2 in the third.
It was Errani who nicked a vital break over her competitor managed to serve her way into the final.
