Andy Murray is through to the quarter-final stage of the Mexican Open courtesy of a straight-sets victory over Joao Sousa.
The world number seven saw off his Portuguese opponent 6-3 6-4 in a match that lasted for one hour and 42 minutes.
Murray, who converted only three of the nine break points that fell his way, went two points behind in the opening set, though the Scot soon bounced back to take the set and lead the match.
The British number one had to work harder for the second set, with Sousa pushing him all the way, until Murray eventually took the match.
David Ferrer also booked his place in the next round earlier today after seeing off Feliciano Lopez.
