Kevin Anderson unleashed a comeback against Jerzy Janowicz to secure a 6-7(6) 6-2 6-1 6-3 victory to secure himself a place in the third round of the US Open at Flushing Meadows.
Anderson had a horror start to the opening set by losing his first and second service games to his opponent.
The South African was able to secure two breaks of his own as the set progressed and eventually the contest was forced into a tie-break, which Janowicz edged 8-6.
Anderson bounced back in the second set by grabbing two breaks, which was enough to draw level on sets, leaving Janowicz slightly on the back foot.
After losing his lead, the 23-year-old began to crumble by dropping three of his service games and only putting one game on the board as Anderson stormed to a quick 2-1 lead.
The South African needed just one break in the fourth set to seal his place in the next round of the Grand Slam.
