Sabine Lisicki has admitted that she was overwhelmed in the Wimbledon final following her straight-sets defeat to Marion Bartoli.
The German was comfortably beaten 6-1 6-4 on Centre Court on Saturday in what was her first Grand Slam final appearance.
"I was overwhelmed by the whole situation but Marion has been in this situation before and she deserves it," a tearful Lisicki told BBC Sport. "She was the better player."
Lisicki saw off defending champion Serena Williams and Agnieszka Radwanska on her way to reaching the final.
