Brakeman Jesse Lumsden insists that he and his Canadian team will compete on Sunday despite crashing during the second run of the four-man bobsleigh event on Saturday.

One of Canada's three bobsleds crashed during the second run of the four-man competition at the Winter Olympics in Sochi on Saturday.

Driver Justin Kripps, with brakemen Jesse Lumsden, Cody Sorensen and Ben Coakwell in his sled, flipped on one of the curves on the Sanki Sliding Center track.

Although the bobsled slid through several turns on its side with the team member's helmeted heads digging into the ice, all four appeared to be uninjured when checked by medical personnel after climbing out of the sled.

The team had been in eighth place after the first run and, following their second-run crash, they stand almost no chance of winning a medal.

However, Lumsden ‏has insisted that the team will complete the final two runs of the event on Sunday.
