Sales of tickets for the Sochi Winter Olympics have exceeded one million, according to reports.
Olympic officials made the announcement earlier today, a day after the Russian Federation men's hockey team made its debut at the current Games.
A Sochi record 106,000 fans are said to have entered the Bolshoy Arena on Thursday, with many coming to watch Russia beat Slovenia 5-2 at hockey.
Organising committee chief executive Dmitry Chernyshenko told reporters: "We are quite happy with the atmosphere that we're having at the venues."
Previous reports have suggested that volunteers were being asked to fill empty seats during some events.
