A brace from Bafetimbi Gomis gives Swansea City a 3-1 win over Hull City in the Premier League.

A brace from Bafetimbi Gomis helped Swansea City inflict a 3-1 defeat on 10-man Hull City that sees the Tigers remain firmly in the battle for Premier League survival.

There was little action at either end in a quiet opening 15 minutes, but the deadlock was soon broken by Ki Sung-yueng, who was on hand to fire home after Jonjo Shelvey's long-range effort had been kept out by Allan McGregor.

Swansea then doubled their lead shortly before the break when Gomis volleyed home in acrobatic fashion, though there were suspicions of offside.

Steve Bruce sent his side out early for the second half, and his half-time team talk quickly paid off with a goal on 50 minutes.

It was defender Paul McShane who pulled his side back into the game when he slotted home Ahmed Elmohamady's cross from close range.

However, just as the Tigers fightback was beginning, Bruce's side were derailed as referee Andre Marriner showed David Meyler a straight red card for a lunging tackle on Kyle Naughton.

With a man advantage, Swansea began to turn the screw and they could have extended their lead had Shelvey's fizzing 20-yard strike been slightly more accurate.

McShane bravely flung himself in front of Wayne Routledge's goal-bound effort as Bruce's side refused to throw the towel in.

However, with Hull committing men forward in a desperate attempt to salvage something from the game, Gomis added his second in injury time when he rounded off a swift Swansea counter-attack to seal the points.
