Oakland Raiders second-round Draft pick Derek Carr may prove to be strong opposition to Matt Schaub's role as quarterback next season, according to reports in the press.
Schaub has long been touted as having the potential to stand out as one of the NFL's strongest quarterbacks to date, although new signing Carr is showing signs of real promise in the team's OTAs.
Carr's performances have been so strong that NFL Media's Albert Breer recently reported that there is now internal belief that Schaub will be pushed by Carr as early as next season.
It is thought that Carr's recent contract with the Raiders is worth around $5.4m (£3.2m).
