Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo feels that he has nothing to prove in the NFL despite missing out on a long-term deal.
The 27-year-old was placed with the franchise tag which keeps him under contract for the 2014 season, after the Redskins did not offer him a contract extension.
"Oh, I've got to prove myself again, huh? I don't have to prove myself to anybody. I'm already proven in this league," Orakpo told the Washington Post.
"Like I said, I'm here. I have a great relationship with coach Gruden. I have a great relationship with Bruce Allen, and I have a great relationship with Mr. Snyder, and I'm here. It is what it is.
"I signed my franchise tag. I'm here. So, play it out, whatever the case may be, I still want something long-term."
Orakpo recorded 60 tackles, 10 sacks and an interception last season.
