British sprinter James Dasaolu believes that regularly running against the world's best athletes will aid his preparation ahead of this summer's World Championships.

Dasaolu must see off a strong domestic challenge to make Beijing, but ahead of his first race of the season in Doha, the 100m runner is hopeful of building some momentum ahead of future events.

The 27-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "The year has been injury free. Normally I'd open up in June but everything's been going well so I want to get the ball rolling.

"I'm always a believer in racing against these guys and getting used to running against them so come the World Championships, I'll be used to running against them."

Dasaolu currently sits in second place in the British all-time list behind Linford Christie after recording a time of 9.91 seconds in 2013.
