AC Milan have issued a statement denying that striker Antonio Cassano has suffered a stroke.
The 29-year-old was taken to hospital shortly after arriving home from the Rossoneri's 3-2 victory over AS Roma on Saturday evening.
Cassano had developed problems with his vision, speech and movement, leading the Italian media to report that he had suffered a mini stroke.
However, the Italian champions have rebuffed those reports and have revealed that Cassano's condition is improving.
"AC Milan inform that the news in circulation containing a hypothetical diagnosis on Antonio Cassano's state of health cannot be considered true as it does not come from an accredited medical source," read a statement from the club.
"AC Milan underline that Antonio Cassano is in a phase of marked improvement and in the next few days will undergo further medical examinations."
Cassano joined the Red and Blacks in January from fellow Serie A club Sampdoria.
