Massimiliano Allegri hopes that Alexandre Pato remains at AC Milan for a long time.

AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has said that he hopes that striker Alexandre Pato remains at the club for a long time.

The Brazilian, who has struggled with injuries and fitness issues this season, has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain following the appointment of former boss Carlo Ancelotti this week.

"Pato wants to stay and my wish is that he does not leave," the Italian told reporters.

"I hope and I believe that he will stay with us for this season and also for many years to come."

"You cannot always be a starter. He has been training hard and he does not show any sign of being unhappy."

Pato, who arrived at Milan over four seasons ago from Internacional, has scored more than 50 goals in 110 appearance for the club.
