Keisuke Honda has hinted that he may still be allowed to join AC Milan before the new Serie A season gets underway.
The 27-year-old has already agreed a deal to join the Rossoneri in January after his contract with CSKA Moscow expires in December.
According to Football Italia, the Russian side want €5m (£4.3m) in order to release him this summer, but Milan are trying to knock that price down.
Honda said that his brother is working on negotiations between the two clubs.
"For the negotiations and the possibility of arriving at San Siro straight away you'd have to ask my brother - he is working on it," he is quoted as saying.
The Japanese international joined CSKA from Dutch outfit VVV-Venlo in 2010.
