Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday.

Premier League champions Manchester City will be looking to return to winning ways in the top flight when they travel to the Emirates Stadium for a showdown with Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

The Citizens' perfect start to the new Premier League season came to an end last weekend when they suffered a 2-1 defeat away against Wolverhampton Wanderers, but they responded with a 3-1 success in the Champions League group stage against RB Leipzig on Wednesday.

Pep Guardiola was able to welcome back a couple of first-team players to the matchday squad in Germany following spells out with injuries, but he will have to cope without the presence of a few star names when they make the trip to North London.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Mikel Arteta's side.

Kevin De Bruyne

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Kevin De Bruyne underwent hamstring surgery at the end of August and the Belgian is not expected to return until the beginning of 2024, although Guardiola has provided an encouraging update on the playmaker's recovery.

John Stones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: October 21 (vs. Brighton & Hove Albion)

John Stones, who has not played for Man City since the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal in August due to a muscle injury, returned to the matchday squad on Wednesday and watched on as an unused substitute in the win over Leipzig. However, Guardiola has confirmed that the defender "is not ready" to play on Sunday.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Manchester City midfielder Rodri will serve the third and final game of his three-match suspension on Sunday after being sent off in the 2-0 Premier League win over Nottingham Forest three weeks ago.
