Tim Sherwood has revealed that he may ask Stiliyan Petrov to lead the Aston Villa team out for the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
Villa reached the last four of the competition with a 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
Petrov was forced to retire in 2013 after being diagnosed with leukaemia, but the Bulgarian is now in remission and recently rejoined Villa in a coaching capacity.
"Good idea. It is a possibility," Sherwood told The Mirror.
"We are pleased to have Stiliyan on board and involved. He can add something to this club this season and beyond."
The 35-year-old made 186 appearances for Aston Villa between 2006 and 2013.
