A stoppage-time goal from Cyril Thereau has rescued a 2-2 draw for Chievo against Atalanta BC in Serie A this afternoon.
Chievo had the first chance of the game in the fifth minute when Thereau set up Adrian Stoian, whose lobbed attempt went over the crossbar.
Atalanta took the lead with their first attack when Luca Cigarini's free kick was flicked into the path of Guglielmo Stendardo, who finished from close range.
In the second half the home side thought that they had doubled their lead, but Marko Livaja's effort was ruled out for offside.
Chievo equalised in the 76th minute when Thereau latched onto Stoian's lofted pass and scored from a tight angle.
With six minutes remaining, Luigi Giorgi restored Atalanta's lead when he struck a volley past Ciro Polito from the edge of the penalty area.
However, Thereau had the final say three minutes into injury time, as he scored his 11th goal of the campaign from close range after Atalanta had failed to clear a corner kick.
