A Diego Godin header has given Atletico Madrid a 1-0 lead at half time against Granada.
Atletico started well as Yannick Ferreira Carrasco played the ball into the near post towards Fernando Torres but the forward could not quite stretch enough to direct the ball beyond Andreas.
Torres had another chance moments later after Antoine Griezmann played a one-two with Carrasco before he played it to the Spanish international but Torres's shot was blocked by the Granada defence.
On 20 minutes, Atletico went ahead as Godin connected with a Koke cross, and the Uruguayan drove his free header into the back of the net for his first goal of the season.
Carrasco had a chance of his own with 10 minutes remaining in the half as he was allowed to run at the defence but the Belgian international pulled his shot wide of the goal.
Granada created their first chance before the break as Isaac Success worked down the wing before playing it to Adalberto Penaranda but he could not get his shot on target from a difficult angle.
