Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has hailed Yannick Ferreira Carrasco for his performance in Sunday's 2-1 win over Valencia.
The Belgian attacker, who moved to Atletico from AS Monaco in the summer, scored the home side's second in their La Liga success, finding the back of the net from outside the box.
Simeone has said that the 22-year-old is a player that is improving with each passing week and is confident that he will continue scoring "important goals" for the capital side.
"We'd been talking about the issue of Carrasco for several weeks, and he's improving on the basis of the effort he's made in adjusting to the team's characteristics," Simeone told reporters.
"We're happy for his performance, and the goal he scored is his specialty. He's a guy who's come here to score important goals. For us, scoring in that area of the pitch [where he scored] is important and he's shown why he's in the team."
Fellow summer signing Jackson Martinez also found the back of the net on Sunday as Atletico moved into third spot in the table, just two points from the league leaders Real Madrid.
