Barcelona star Luis Suarez believes that he deserves more "respect" from the British press after he faced accusations of biting following Tuesday night's Champions League tie against Manchester City.
The Uruguay international, who joined Barca from Liverpool last summer, netted twice as the Spanish giants sealed a 2-1 triumph over City at the Etihad in the first leg of their last-16 tie.
In the aftermath, suggestions were made that Suarez may have bitten the hand of Martin Demichelis in the closing stages of the game, but footage shown from a different angle suggested otherwise.
"[Demichelis] put his hand on my throat," Suarez told Uruguayan radio station Sport890. "I do not understand why they want to do this. They want to make trouble - a mountain out of a molehill.
"They must be hurt after what I did to them in the World Cup but they forget that I played in England and they should show me some respect."
Suarez served a four-month ban from all football activity after biting the shoulder of Italy's Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup in Brazil last year.
