Barcelona have revealed that Raphinha suffered a thigh injury during Friday's La Liga clash with Sevilla.
The Brazil international was replaced in the first half of what proved to be a 1-0 win for the Catalan outfit after pulling up with an issue, which led to Fermin Lopez entering the field.
Barcelona have now confirmed that the attacker damaged his right thigh, although the club have not provided a possible timeframe in terms of his recovery.
"Tests have shown that first-team player Raphinha has an injury to the biceps femoris of his right thigh. He is low and his evolution will mark his availability," read a statement on Barcelona's official website.
Raphinha has joined Pedri and Frenkie de Jong on the sidelines, with the former still missing due to a thigh problem, while the latter is out of action due to an ankle issue.
An own goal from Sergio Ramos in the 76th minute decided Friday's game with Sevilla, and the result moved Barcelona back to the top of the La Liga table.
"We created chances, we felt comfortable against a great team. We're happy and satisfied, but we must improve our finishing," Barcelona boss Xavi told reporters after the match.
"We created many chances and attacked well. I think it has been one of our best matches, but we're frustrated because we didn't score earlier. We played great football against Sevilla, who are the Champions of the Europa League."
Xavi was also full of praise for Fermin, with the midfielder impressing off the bench as Raphinha's replacement during the clash with the Europa League winners.
"Fermin has played very well, he's a top player. I hope he will be at the club for a very long time," added the head coach.
"Fermin is a great player. He dominates both legs, he doesn't lose balls. He has 1v1 dribbling, he can shoot from outside the box. He has many conditions to be a Barca player for many years. He's very generous, and I'm so happy for him.
"If Fermin believes in himself, he can mark an era at Barca. He needs to believe that he's a good player, that he can consistently put up good performances."
Xavi also played down fears over Ronald Araujo after the match, with the Uruguay international simply rested against Sevilla after only just returning from a hamstring issue.
"Ronald Araujo was rested today. He's coming back from an injury and we need him to stay fit," he said.
Barcelona will be now switch their attention to the Champions League, preparing to travel to Porto for their second match in the group stage of the competition next week. body check tags ::
