Barcelona have confirmed that striker Luis Suarez will be out of action for at least four weeks.
The 30-year-old suffered a knee injury as the Catalans fell to a 5-1 aggregate defeat to arch-rivals Real Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana on Wednesday.
News of Suarez's injury broke via the official Uruguay Football Association page, and was subsequently confirmed by the Blaugrana.
A Barca statement read: "Tests carried out on Thursday morning confirm that the Uruguayan has a distension in the posterior articular capsule in his right knee picked up in the second half of the Clasico on Wednesday in the Santiago Bernabeu."
Suarez is to miss Barca's games against Real Betis, Alaves, Espanyol and potentially Getafe, as well as Uruguay's World Cup qualifying fixtures against Argentina and Paraguay.
