Barcelona have revealed that they will be without Victor Valdes until January because of a calf injury.
The goalkeeper suffered the problem during Spain's 1-0 defeat to South Africa yesterday evening.
He arrived in Madrid with the rest of the squad earlier today and was immediately transferred to Barcelona's medical facilities to determine the extent of the damage.
The subsequent scan has confirmed that the 31-year-old has torn the muscle and will now spend the next six to eight weeks on the sidelines.
