Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino has insisted that the Spanish club's reported pursuit of Celta Vigo's Luis Enrique has not been "inappropriate".
The Catalan outfit's sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta reportedly held a meeting with Enrique last week with a view to the former Barcelona B coach taking charge at the Camp Nou this summer.
However, Martino, whose own position is in severe doubt, remained unmoved when questioned on the speculation at a press conference ahead of tomorrow's La Liga clash with Elche.
"None of the club's actions have been inappropriate," he told reporters.
"They have not made any mistakes, not now or in the ten months I've been here. All I have to say to the players is that the league is in our own hands.
"The group of players in the dressing room, with myself in charge, don't find it hard to say that we got it wrong last Saturday given that we are all able to criticise ourselves."
Barcelona will win La Liga if they pick up six points from their last two league games.
