Barcelona reportedly asked Paris Saint-Germain for Angel Di Maria to be included in a deal for Ousmane Dembele.
The French giants appeared to have moved to the head of the queue for Dembele on Sunday night, with the attacker seemingly available for transfer before the end of the window.
However, a proposed move to Paris has now allegedly broken down, with the two clubs unable to reach an agreement for the World Cup winner.
According to AS, Barcelona wanted Di Maria to be included in the arrangement, with the Argentine thought to be looking for a fresh challenge after more than six years at PSG.
The 33-year-old, who played for Real Madrid between 2010 and 2014, has scored three times and registered five assists in 18 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino's side this term.
Di Maria's current deal with the French giants is due to expire at the end of June, but there is a 12-month option which can be activated by the club if required.
