Barcelona defender Andreu Fontas has joined fellow La Liga outfit Real Mallorca until the end of the season.
It is understood that Mallorca have been allowed to add an extra player to their ranks after a host of injury problems left them with limited options in defence.
The 22-year-old is regarded as a future first-team player for the Catalan outfit, but he will now seek regular football at Son Moix.
A statement on Barcelona's official website said: "[Fontas] has been given permission by the club to travel this morning to Palma de Mallorca for a medical check-up ahead of his loan to RCD Mallorca until the end of the season."
Fontas has made eight first-team appearances for Barca.
