Spain midfielder Xavi believes that he "owes" former Barcelona manager Louis van Gaal for all the good memories that he provided at the Camp Nou.
Van Gaal, who is currently in charge of the Netherlands national team, comes up against Xavi in tonight's meeting between Oranje and Spain in Group B.
"I have a extraordinarily good memories of him and I feel a lot of affection towards him - I owe him a lot. He was always straight and he trusted me 100%, Xavi is quoted as saying by The Guardian.
The 62-year-old spent four years at Barca across two spells as manager.
