BATE Borisov have reached the group stages of the Champions League, despite tonight's 2-1 defeat to Partizan, as they went through on away goals after a 2-2 aggregate score.
The home side went close to taking an early lead as Andrija Zivkovic darted down the wing, but his cross was headed over by Aboubakar Oumarou.
BATE also had an early opportunity, but Nikolay Signevich headed Filip Mladenovic's cross over the bar before they took the lead through Igor Stasevic, who guided the ball into the net after the keeper saved Zivkovic's shot.
The away side almost doubled their lead minutes later, but Alexsandr Volodko shot wide from the edge of the box, and Alex Hleb hit the post after the break from inside the box.
Partizan went close to getting one back after the break as Ivan Saponjic was found unmarked inside the box, but he headed way over the bar.
Hleb went close to killing the tie again on the hour-mark, but he shot straight at the keeper from the middle of the box, and Partizan punished him by equalising.
Nemanja Petrovic received the ball in the box, and his deflected shot flew past the keeper and into the net.
The Serbian side pushed for a second, and found one late on as Saphonjic found the net in added time, but they couldn't find a third goal to win them the tie.
