Bayer Leverkusen have been held to a 2-2 draw by Mainz at home in the Bundesliga.
The hosts made the brighter start of the two teams, with Simon Rolfes forcing goalkeeper Christian Wetklo into making a save as early as the third minute with a header.
Wetklo was called into action minutes later when Andre Schurrle attempted to head home from close range, and then Omer Toprak went close.
Bayer continued to dominate the game, with Stefan Kiessling, Schurrle and Karim Bellarabi all trying their luck, before Kiessling opened the scoring two minutes from the half-time interval when he headed home Daniel Carvajal's cross from close range.
Mainz equalised in the 58th minute through Adam Szalai - who turned in Zdenek Pospech's cross from close range - and went ahead on 76 minutes as Szalai provided Marcel Risse with the pass to shot home from outside the box.
However, Bayer restored parity with just three minutes left on the clock, thanks to Gonzalo Castro's effort from inside the area.
