Vincent Kompany's Bayern Munich drew 1-1 with Nuri Sahin's Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening and maintained their unbeaten start to their domestic season.

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens scored his eighth goal in all competitions in the 27th minute after Nico Schlotterbeck passed out to the left flank, before the forward drove from the halfway line - beating Konrad Laimer - and charged into the penalty area, unleashing a venomous shot into the top-right corner.

BVB goalkeeper Gregor Kobel was forced into action in the 49th minute when Thomas Muller struck from close range, but he squandered his chance in a central position in the box.

However, Jamal Musiala would go on to head home an equaliser in the 85th minute after Michael Olise crossed from the right of the box towards the back post, and the unmarked attacking midfielder finished into the bottom-left corner.

Bayern now have 30 points from 12 matches and are seven points clear of second-placed Eintracht Frankfurt, though the Eagles have the opportunity to close the gap to four points should they beat Heidenheim on Sunday.

As for Dortmund, they now have 20 points following the draw and are in fifth place, one point behind fourth-placed RB Leipzig and three behind third-placed Bayer Leverkusen.

While Schlotterbeck undoubtedly deserves credit for his line-breaking pass to Bynoe-Gittens, but the Englishman announced himself on the world stage with a fantastic solo effort that showcased his pace, skill and finishing ability.

At the time of the equaliser, Dortmund were playing with 10 men due to Niklas Sule being down injured after defending the initial free kick Bayern had moments before Olise's cross, but Sule's absence cannot excuse their poor marking in the penalty area.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND VS. BAYERN MUNICH HIGHLIGHTS

27th min: Borussia Dortmund 1-0 Bayern Munich (Jamie Bynoe-Gittens)

Schlotterbeck releases Bynoe-Gittens on the left flank, and the Englishman dances past Laimer, who fails to keep up with the forward and can only watch as Bynoe-Gittens strikes a thunderous effort past goalkeeper Manuel Neuer from the left of the box.

What a strike!

85th min: Borussia Dortmund 1-1 Bayern Munich (Jamal Musiala)

Leroy Sane strikes a free kick from just outside the box into the Dortmund wall before the ball finds its way to Olise on the right of the box, and he plays a curling cross towards the back post which is met by Musiala, who heads home from close range.

An equaliser in the final stages!

MAN OF THE MATCH - JAMIE BYNOE-GITTENS

Dortmund had to endure long spells of the match without the ball, but Bynoe-Gittens was always a threat against Bayern on the counter.

The Englishman probed Bayern's backline whenever BVB had possession, and in addition to his exceptional solo goal, he also completed three of his four dribbles.

Earlier in the season, Bynoe-Gittens was seen as having the most impact off of the bench, but he will have almost certainly cemented himself in Nuri Sahin's plans for the first team with his showings on Saturday evening.
