Runaway Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich are comfortably ahead at half time against Hertha Berlin, with Toni Kroos and Mario Gotze putting them 2-0 ahead.
It was a predictably strong start from the hosts as they dominated possession, and they were deservedly ahead inside six minutes. Thomas Muller worked his way into the box and found Kroos in acres at the far post to tap in for a swift lead.
Almost without Hertha touching the ball again Bayern doubled their lead just before the 15-minute mark. This time Bastian Schweinsteiger was the creator with a cross from the near byline that Gotze headed in for 2-0.
Gotze had another effort with his head 30 minutes in. Arjen Robben was found by Kroos but the Dutchman's cross was just too high for Gotze, who nodded his effort off target.
It was inches away to being three five minutes before the break as Muller headed a Gotze ball goalwards, but his effort came back off the bar to ensure it remained 2-0.
