Champions League winners Bayern Munich take on Europa League victors Sevilla at the Puskas Arena on Thursday in the 2020 UEFA Super Cup.
Bayern enter the fixture on an incredible run of form and are favourites to overcome Sevilla, who are competing in this showpiece fixture for a fourth time in six years.
Match preview
German champions Bayern have quite simply been in sensational form since the turn of the year, going 31 matches without defeat in all competitions and winning 30 of those.
That run includes thumping victories over Chelsea and Barcelona at the end of last season en route to beating Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
Worryingly for Bayern's domestic and European rivals, the one-month break between seasons has done little to slow them down if their meeting with Schalke 04 is anything to go by.
Hansi Flick's charges put eight unanswered goals past Schalke in last Friday's Bundesliga opener, seeing them top the table after just one round of fixtures.
Bayern will now compete in the UEFA Super Cup for a fourth time and will be hoping to make it back-to-back triumphs, having defeated Chelsea on pens in the 2013 edition.
Sevilla have more experience of playing in this one-off fixture given that this is their fourth appearance in six seasons, though they have lost each of those previous three games.
Los Nervionenses have gained a reputation for being Europa League experts, with last month's 3-2 win over Inter Milan in the final seeing them win it for a sixth time in 15 years.
Unlike their opponents, Sevilla have not been in action yet this season, with a 3-2 victory over Levante last week their only outing since overcoming Inter in a thrilling final.
Sevilla also eliminated Roma, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United in the mini knockout tournament, but it goes without saying that this will be a far tougher test.
The Spanish side have lost their only previous competitive meeting with Bayern, going down 2-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals of the 2017-18 Champions League.

Team News
Robert Lewandowski scored 55 goals in 46 appearances last season and will be the first name on the teamsheet for Bayern.
Flick has a tougher decision to make in the wide positions, where Champions League final hero Kingsley Coman is pushing Leroy Sane for a recall.
Influential left-back Alphonso Davies sat out the victory over Schalke as a precaution, but he is expected to be involved from the start on Thursday.
Sevilla have brought in Ivan Rakitic from Barcelona during the summer and he is in line for a second debut, six years after previously departing the club.
With their first two domestic games being postponed to give Sevilla extra preparation time, Julen Lopetegui has a full group of players to choose from.
Luuk de Jong scored a brace in the Europa League final victory against Inter and will likely lead the line here, with Lucas Ocampos and Suso positioned either side.
Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:
Neuer; Pavard, Sule, Boateng, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Gnabry, Muller, Coman; Lewandowski
Sevilla possible starting lineup:
Bono; Navas, Kounde, Carlos, Escudero; Rakitic, Gudelj, Fernando; Suso, De Jong, Ocampos
We say: Bayern Munich 3-1 Sevilla
Bayern have been unstoppable both domestically and in Europe this calendar year, winning 30 of their last 31 games as they became the first side ever to win every game en route to lifting the Champions League.
Sevilla can also be pleased with their debut campaign under Lopetegui, which ended with yet more European silverware, but it is difficult to see them halting the Bayern juggernaut in Budapest.
