Former Blackburn Rovers defender Henning Berg is reportedly being considered for the club's managerial vacancy.
The Championship club have spent the last four weeks looking for a new manager after Steve Kean opted to step down from the position.
A number of people have been linked with the job, including Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Roy Keane, Mick McCarthy and Paul Ince.
However, Berg has now been installed as the favourite to fill the void following revelations that he will have an interview with the club's board today, according to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
The 43-year-old, who had a two-year spell in charge of Lillestrom, currently works as a television pundit in his native Norway.
He made over 200 appearances during his four years at Ewood Park.
