Blackburn Rovers owners Venky's are reportedly planning to move quickly to appoint a new manager.
The Indian-based owners have been sounding out a replacement for the now-ousted Gary Bowyer for at least two weeks, according to the Lancashire Telegraph.
Venky's are said to be aiming to bring in a new boss before next weekend's Championship clash at Preston North End.
Bowyer was sacked on Tuesday after more than two years at the helm, with the club lying in 16th place in the league table following an indifferent start to the campaign.
Former Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is said to be the favourite to succeed Bowyer at Ewood Park.
