Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has reportedly become the favourite to nab the coaching vacancy at Blackburn Rovers.

The Championship outfit, who were demoted to the second tier of English football last season, have been in the hunt for a new boss following the resignation of Steve Kean three weeks ago.

While Tottenham Hotspur director Tim Sherwood was thought to be high on the club's list, it is believed that Holloway has emerged as the leading contender following Spurs' unwillingness to let go of Sherwood, according to BBC Sport.

Former Manchester United forward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also been reported as a possible contender for the position.
