Nikica Jelavic scored twice as Everton recorded a 3-1 victory in their pre-season friendly away at Blackburn Rovers.
The first chance of the contest fell to hosts Rovers, but an unmarked Chris Taylor guided his header from close range wide of the post.
Everton went on to punish Taylor's miss in 24th minute when Kevin Mirallas's curling effort flew into the net via a deflection off Blackburn defender Grant Hanley.
As the half drew to a close, Arouna Kone had a chance to open his goalscoring account for the away side, but his effort struck the crossbar before it was cleared for a corner.
Roberto Martinez's side did manage to claim their second of the match in the 55th minute, though, when Croatian frontman Jelavic ghosted into the area to head in from six yards out.
The 27-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Hamburg of late, then rounded off Everton's scoring 13 minutes from time when he converted a cross from Seamus Coleman at the second attempt.
There was still time for Scott Dann to reduce the arrears in the closing stages as he headed in from a narrow angle after Everton goalkeeper Joel Robles had failed to deal with a corner from Morten Gamst Pedersen.
