Bologna have claimed their first victory in Serie A today at the ninth attempt, easing the pressure on coach Stefano Pioli with a 1-0 win over newly-promoted Livorno.
Piolo's side have been short of confidence in recent weeks but broke the deadlock after just three minutes through Jose Angel Crespo, who slid to head home Marek Cech's inviting cross from close range.
Diego Laxalt and Alessandro Diamanti both went close to a second for the Rossoblu, while Emerson's free kick was parried from just under the crossbar in Livorno's best early opening.
Both sides struggled to find a killer pass in the closing stages, with Luca Siligardi firing wide from an acute angle for the visitors.
A sweetly-struck late effort from Diamanti went inches wide but Bologna held on for their maiden success of the campaign.
