Bolton Wanderers striker Shola Ameobi is expected to leave the club this month due to their ongoing financial struggles.
The 34-year-old arrived at the Macron Stadium on a short-term deal in October having impressed during a trial stint at the club.
However, the Trotters find themselves £172.9m in debt and in danger of being wound up, although they were handed a lifeline by the High Court earlier today.
The financial situation at the club means that Bolton cannot afford to offer Ameobi a new deal, paving the way for his exit.
The former Newcastle United striker, who also played in Turkey and at Crystal Palace before moving to Bolton, scored one goal in eight appearances for the Championship strugglers.
