A goal from Marco Reus is all that separates Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray at the halfway stage of their Champions League group match.
The Germans controlled the opening stages, but it was the visitors who carved out the first clear-cut chance when Wesley Sneijder met Blerim Dzemaili's cross with an overhead kick, failing to muster enough power to trouble Roman Weidenfeller.
Reus had a lively first half, and Dortmund almost took the lead from one of his crosses in the 24th minute, Sokratis Papastathopoulos leaping high and heading against the bar from close range.
It was Reus who was on target when Dortmund edged their noses in front five minutes before the break. Lukasz Piszczek cut the Galatasaray defence in half with a through-ball, and the winger raced clear to slide the ball home.
Things could have been worse for the Turks at half time, but Henrikh Mkhitaryan's strike following a neat Dortmund team move sailed narrowly over the crossbar, keeping their hopes alive for the time being.
