Borussia Monchengladbach and Freiburg have drawn 1-1 in the Bundesliga.

The home side were the first to create a chance as Julian Schuster had a shot inside six minutes, but his effort was blocked.

Cedrick Makiadi then had a chance for the visitors but it was well blocked as both defences were holding strong.

Monchengladbach were starting to control the game and Patrick Herrmann hit a shot on target but it was well saved.

Herrmann again had an effort just before the break but he was unable to find the target this time.

Four minutes after the restart the home side were finally in front after Igor de Camargo finished off a nice team move.

Freiburg tried to get back into the game through Max Kruse, but he shot wide of the target.

The visitors were given a lifeline with 15 minutes left as they were awarded a penalty and Daniel Caligiuri made no mistake from the spot to level the scores.
