Brazil winger Bernard has played down fears over his fitness despite limping out of training with an ankle problem less than two weeks before the World Cup is due to start.
The 21-year-old is said to have suffered the injury when getting tackled by Tottenham Hotspur's Paulinho, but is expected to be fit for the tournament.
"The ankle is swollen but thankfully it's not twisted," The Express quotes Bernard as saying. "These things happen when you are preparing for the World Cup. Everyone wants to get their spot and play."
Lucas Moura is on the standby list for the World Cup hosts, who will open the tournament with a Group A clash against Croatia in Sao Paulo on June 12.
