Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill has insisted that his side have "lessons to learn" after their first match following their return to the Championship ended in a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday.
Goals from Tom Lees and Lewis McGugan were enough to give the Owls all three points at Hillsborough.
"We didn't have enough thrust in our game in the final third. We've got lessons to learn," Cotterill is quoted as saying by the club's official Twitter account.
"We've given them a goal from a set piece. Then they've scored the second on the counter with us pushing forward."
Bristol City continue their season when they face Luton Town in the League Cup first round on Tuesday.
