Bristol City boss Sean O'Driscoll feels that the playing conditions hampered both his side and Blackpool in their goalless draw at Bloomfield Road.
Neither side could break the deadlock in their Championship clash as a cut-up pitch made control and passing difficult.
O'Driscoll told the club's official website: "It's about performances. That was another good performance. We looked organised and looked like a team that should have enjoyed more clean sheets this season.
"A set piece or a mistake would have been the only chance. That's down to the conditions.
"It's as consistent as we've been from start to finish, it was probably dictated by the pitch."
City are now just two points adrift of safety but remain bottom of the Championship.
