Good afternoon, my friends. I'm Shane and I'll be guiding you through Burnley's Premier League encounter with Hull City at Turf Moor.

Is today the day? The day we see Burnley finally register a Premier League victory this season? Believe it or not, but Bishops Cleeve FC are the only other team in England's football pyramid yet to pick up a win. That's right; Sean Dyche's side have something in common with a team that play in the eighth tier of English football. Hmm.

Dyche has claimed that he is not worried by the Clarets' plight, rightfully portraying a calm figure, but inside he must be fearing the worst along with every fan of the club. Rock bottom of the Premier League, Burnley could find themselves EIGHT points adrift of safety by 5pm this evening if they lose this afternoon. They need to starting winning games - and fast!

Worryingly for Burnley they do not have an abundance of match-winners in the squad, not while striker Sam Vokes remains sidelined. Forwards Marvin Sordell and Lukas Jutkiewicz are nowhere good enough for Premier League football it seems, while Danny Ings looks to be missing strike partner Sam Vokes up top. Both of them played such a pivotal role in firing Burnley into the top flight, but the Welshman's impending return from long-term injury might just come too late to rescue his side.

However, there is every chance that the doom and gloom over Burnley's season might subside today, as they face a Hull City team with serious problems of their own.

Steve Bruce's side have managed just two wins from 10 Premier League outings and, without trying to be harsh, they looked truly rotten in last week's 1-0 defeat to Southampton, whose goalkeeper Fraiser Forster literally did not have a single save to make. We spoke about Burnley's goalscoring deficiencies, but the Tigers also have major issues in the final third.

Anyways, let's crack on with some team news for this one, shall we? I'll have this for you very soon, but for the moment why not have a look at what the boys down at Sports Mole HQ have had to say on this one.

Let's start with the hosts then and I can tell you that, having tried Jutkiewicz and Sordell beside Ings up front in recent weeks, Dyche has now turned to Ashley Barnes to partner the young striker in the manager's only change from the 3-0 defeat to Arsenal last week.

Elsewhere you'll find the same four in midfield that started at the Emirates, with David Jones, George Boyd, Dean Marney and Scott Arfield lining up there. Jason Shackell captains the side as usual, with veteran Michael Duff beside him at centre-back, while Stephen Ward and Kieran Trippier start in the full-back slots. Tom Heaton between the sticks as ever and that, folks, is Burnley.

On to Hull now and Bruce makes two changes from the dismal performance against Southampton last weekend. Third-choice goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic, who made a dreadful error in that one, makes way for the returning Steve Harper, while Sone Aluko replaces Hatem Ben Arfa, who has also been dropped for his showing against the Saints. Jakupovic, to his credit, did atone for his error with a couple of blinding save, so he might feel a bit unlucky overall.

Aluko comes in to partner Abel Hernandez up front, while Tom Huddlestone, Jake Livermore, Mohammed Diame and Robbie Brady keep their place in midfield. It's as you were in defence, with Paul McShane, James Chester, Ahmed Elmohamady and Curtis Davies making up the back four, with Harper back in goal as we said.

What do we make of both teams then? Just the one change for Dyche, which seems to suggest he's convinced that there aren't many tweaks that he can make to spark an upturn in fortunes. Two changes for Hull, but there could have been more. They were truly shocking against Southampton, where Diame was the only attacking player that seemed to emerge from the game with his pride intact.

DANGER MAN! It is perhaps indicative of Burnley's plight that they don't actually have that many danger men in the side. None of their players have scored more than once in the Premier League, but I suppose Danny Ings is the most dangerous of the bunch, having scored over 20 Championship goals last term. He broke his Premier League duck against Everton two weeks ago, so he'll want to improve on that today.

Who can Hull look to for a bit of inspiration then? Well, it ought to be a striker we pick out, but it has to be Mohammed Diame. The combative midfielder has four goals in his first eight games for the Tigers and he looked brilliant against the Saints last time out. You can't rule him out improving on his haul today. Abel Hernandez can be dangerous, but like Ings, he looks to be struggling without his strike partner following the injury to Nikica Jelavic.

REFEREE WATCH: So, who's charged with making all the big decisions today then? That would be Mark Clattenburg, who returns to Premier League action today after being dropped last week for breaking the rules. Clattenburg left Selhurst Park on his own two weeks ago to travel to Newcastle for an Ed Sheeran gig. No, he hasn't been punished for his taste in wack music. Apparently officials involved in every game must travel to and from the game together. He's back today, however, which is good because he's a decent ref in my view.

STAT! We have looked at how ominous Burnley's early-season form for their survival chances, but there is one decent omen for the hosts ahead of kickoff. The only two Premier League meetings between these sides came in the 2009-10 campaign, with the Clarets winning both.

PREDICTION: Right, kickoff isn't far away now so how about we glance into the future and see what the scoreline says at around 4.45pm. I see Hull shading this one, to be honest. I've watched Burnley numerous times this season, and they aren't very good it has to be said. Hull have the better players, who are far more experienced in the top flight and I see them winning 2-1. There you go.

Both sets of players enter the field to an applause from the Burnley faithful and kickoff is imminent now. The stadium announcer at Turf Moor has just pronounced Abel Hernandez's first name as 'able'. Will he able to add to his three goals in English football today? Maybe, but one of the positives for Burnley has been their defence; they've looked quite decent on a few occasions at the back this season.

There will be a two-minute silence at Turf Moor ahead of kickoff. One for former player and manager Joe Brown, who passed away earlier in the week aged 85, and another for those who fought and died for their country.

KICKOFF! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand we are off at Turf Moor. Burnley, playing from left to right, get us underway. Will they get their elusive first win? Let's find out.

CHANCE! 40 seconds in and Burnley already have a fine chance to open the scoring. James Chester fails to deal with Scott Arfield's long ball, as Ings nips in behind and tap a shot past the outcoming Steve Harper but it drops just wide of the post. Fine opening for Burnley then!

SHOT! Hull respond well to that early scare and Abel Hernandez - or Able Hernandez as the stadium announcer knows him - scuffs a shot wide of Tom Heaton's goal.

Burnley win a corner after good work from former Hull man George Boyd, but the corner comes to nothing as Curtis Davies comfortably clears the lines.

BOOKING: Early yellow card for Hull defender James Chester, who cynically blocks Boyd who cleverly knocked it past him. Lazy defending and that puts him on thin ice. There's only 83 minutes left though.

CHANCE! Kieran Trippier is a lucky bloke. The right-back plays a loose ball straight to Sone Aluko, who gallops toward goal but skipper Jason Shackell gets back in the nick of time to thwart the striker.

Boyd is a bit too over-zealous against his old club, striking left-footed from range but his deflected effort rolls into the arms of Steve Harper. You can tell he badly wants to score today.

Dean Marney, another Hull old boy, is cynically fouled by Aluko just then, but the forward escapes a booking. Why? I don't really know.

Good work from Marney again as the midfielder presses high on Curtis Davies and forces the centre-half into skewing his pass to McShane out for a throw-in. Not much tempo to this one, but it's early days sure.

Decent enough atmosphere at Turf Moor. The home fans have been clapping and singing something over and over again for about five minutes. Burnley yet to respond to the support, though.

SAVE! They have responded to that support now, as Ings forced Harper into a stinging save with a fine volley after Hull failed to clear their lines from a corner. Paul McShane then nearly slices the rebound into his own net, but Robbie Brady clears off the line. Burnley appeal for a goal but, as we know, we've got technology these days. Great, isn't it.

Trippier, who got about 40 assists in the Championship last season or something, whips in a fine ball toward Ings but Chester thumps the header away. They've looked quite sharp, have Burnley.

Burnley have a free kick right on the edge of the box after McShane hacked Barnes. Let's see what comes of it. David Jones and Marney standing over it.

Wow. This was an anti-climax if ever there was one! It's Ings who ends up striking, but it goes straight into the wall and the ball just disappears, before one of them finds it and clears it away. That was a decent chance but a shocking effort from Ings wasted it.

BOOKING: Another booking now as Clattenburg books Jason Shackell for a late challenge on Aluko. No complaints. Incidentally, no sign of the vanishing spray from the referee today. Maybe he lost it at that Ed Sheeran gig.

Burnley have looked quite dangerous from corners. Hull just haven't dealt with them well all afternoon. It's definitely an avenue of promise for the Clarets, but they really have make the most of all this possession.

Oh dear. Momo Diame does brilliantly, evading a few challenges and galloping away from Trippier but, after playing in Able Hernandez, the Uruguayan goes to slide the ball into the box, but he forget to make contact with the ball and it just rolls out for a goal kick. Good work from Diame. Not so good from Able.

SHOT! This would've been goal of the season from Ings, who turned and shot from the halfway line, knowing that Harper was well off his line but it's about 5 yards wide in the end. Good idea, but the execution was slightly off.

Plenty of positives from Burnley in this half so far, but they must make them count. I watched them at home to Everton two weeks back, and they had a fine first-half but that momentum was lost somewhere between the whistle and the restart before losing 3-1. That can't happen again.

BOOKING: It's 2-1 to Burnley in the yellow card stakes, as left-back Stephen Ward goes into the book for a challenge on Elmohamady.

SHOT! Paul McShane has Hull's first and only real goalscoring chance, and it's not even that close really, as the Irishman heads over from Brady's cross.

What did we make of that half then? I'd give it about a 6/10. Burnley have all the possession and all the chances but they're not doing much with either unfortunately.

It's so important that they maintain the momentum in the second half, though. As I said, I watched them home to Everton two weeks ago and they added to a very promising first-half display with a shocking second 45 minutes. Dyche needs to keep them motivated in the dressing room. Their first win of the season is there for the taking; they just need someone to reach out and grab it.

Anywho, stick the kettle on and meet me back here in a few minutes for the second half, where we will either see a first Premier League win for Burnley or another bit of evidence to suggest they're out of their depth. Either way it should be fun. Incidentally, it's also goalless in the other four games in the division at the moment. Best league in the world.

RESTART: Ah, welcome back and we're underway at Turf Moor once again. Hull kick us back off and Steve Bruce will want to see plenty of improvement following a pretty poor first half from Hull.

Very little to report so far in this second half other than the Burnley fans are in fine voice yet again. They deserve a win for their efforts throughout this season.

Is that the goal that sends Burnley on their way to a first Premier League win? It's Ashley Barnes, who squeezes between Elmohamady and Chester to head home a Trippier cross and give the Clarets a fine start to the half.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Bruce has seen enough and makes two instant changes, with Stephen Quinn and Gaston Ramirez replacing Sone Aluko and Tom Huddlestone.

SUBSTITUTION: Dyche makes his first change now as Kightly replaces Scott Arfield.

BOOKING: 3-1 to Burnley in the yellow card stakes now as Michael Duff cynically takes out Hernandez, who looked to favourite to beat the defender in a race to Stephen Quinn's pass.

SUBSTITUTION: Hatem Ben Arfa replaces defender James Chester now. Bruce is certainly going for the win. He has made all three changes and there's still half-an-hour left!

The atmosphere at Turf Moor has been cranked up a notch since the goal as the home fans shout "come on Burnley" over and over again. The neutral in me would love to see them hang on to this lead and secure their first win.

SHOT! George Boyd really wants to score against his former club. The long-haired winger volleys a dropping ball well into row-z after Steve Harper flapped at Ings's cross. He should have lofted it back into the box. Messi wouldn't have taken that one on.

Speaking of row-z, Curtis Davies, the Hull centre-back, tries an ambitious overhead but it's well over the bar.

Some very worrying signs for Hull now as Davies, who landed on his back after that overhead, looks to be in some trouble. Hull have made all three of their subs, however. He does not look like he's able to continue.

But he's back on the field because, well, Hull have nobody else to call on after making their subs.

It's all Hull now, folks. Burnley haven't been able to get the ball to test Davies and the visitors look very dangerous going forward now. It's a massive 20 minutes or so for Burnley - the biggest 20 minutes of their season.

BOOKING: Our good mate Able Hernandez is now booked for a challenge on Jason Shackell it seems.

This is quite shambolic for Hull, who are down to 10 men after Curtis Davies is forced to withdraw from the field. Steve Bruce made his three subs by the hour mark and cannot field a replacement. Madness from Bruce that.

SUBSTITUTION: Goalscorer Ashley Barnes is now withdrawn for fellow striker Lucas Jutkiewicz. Straight swap for Burnley. Dyche seems a bit unsure of what to do. Does he stick with his lead against the 10 men or go for the jugular? It's a massive decision really.

It's been that type of season for Burnley, hasn't it? You wouldn't be at all surprised if the 10 men of Hull salvage a draw, and they've still got plenty of quality out there to find a goal so this one is by no means over. 12 minutes to go.

There's been a delay because, eh, the ball has been lost in the stands. Is there not more than one ball at Turf Moor? We've located it finally, and it's the same ball. Ben Arfa has looked lively in the last few moments.

Hearts were in mouths just then as Able fails to connect with Brady's fine cross. Hull whip it back into the danger zone, but Michael Duff gets a vital touch to divert it away from Ramirez.

BOOKING: Marney booked for a challenge on Quinn. Hull will launch this into the box. Hearts in mouths again...

Ben Arfa plays it short to Livermore, who has probably lost the ball again by firing it well over the bar into the stands. Relief for Burnley.

Don't get it twisted folks: this is a MASSIVE few minutes in Burnley's season. They simply have to have to hang on, and I don't want to be a jinx, but it looks like they will. Hull aren't creating much now.

FOUR MINUTES ADDED ON: Burnley are four minutes away from a huge, maiden win.

BOOKING: Robbie Brady becomes the eighth player to be booked today. Busy return for Clattenburg, eh?

BOOKING: Make that NINE yellows, as Jake Livermore earns a yellow for a cynical challenge.

Steve Harper launches a free kick toward goal, with all 10 Hull players in the opposition half, but it goes straight out for a goal kick. That will delight Dyche.
