Sean Dyche: 'Burnley cannot get carried away'

Burnley boss Sean Dyche says that he is focused on taking "every game as it comes" as his side prepare to tackle local rivals Bolton and Blackburn over the coming weeks.

Sean Dyche has refused to get carried away by Burnley's positive recent form and claimed that he will continue to take things one game at a time.

The Clarets have dropped points in just two of their last seven outings, with one of those games seeing them earn a credible 0-0 draw away at fellow promotion challengers Derby County.

With a gruelling run of fixtures to come following his side's 15-day break, which includes meetings with local rivals Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers, Dyche is simply focused on keeping feet firmly on the ground.

"We just look at every game as it comes," he is quoted as saying by the Lancashire Telegraph. "I've said for years and people have come to accept it. It's just the way that I work, the main focus is on the next game.

"I spoke to some of the managers in the Champions League last season and it's probably harder for them because they maybe have to look beyond the next game for many different reasons, both physical and mental to bring rest periods to players.

"We think it's appropriate to look at the next game and challenge ourselves to win that one. We look beyond that as soon as that's finished. We've found a good way of operating like that so that's what we stick to."

Burnley are currently eighth in the Championship table, sitting one point clear of Derby and two points adrift of Middlesbrough in second.
