Kieran Trippier has admitted that he is excited by the challenge of proving his quality in the Premier League this season.
The Burnley right-back moved to Turf Moor in 2012 after failing to make a breakthrough into the first-team squad at Manchester City, and he is certain that promotion to the Premier League will give him the chance to display his ability at the highest level.
"It's not just Manchester City who I want to prove it to, it is everybody in the Premier League," Trippier told reporters. "I want to show people what I can do and that I can cope with the pressure. I think more than ever that I am ready to make the step up.
"I just cannot wait to get the season underway against Chelsea and begin to express myself."
Burnley were reportedly dealt a blow on Tuesday with the news that a bid for Troy Deeney had been rejected by Watford.
