Sports Mole previews Wednesday's Premier League clash between Burnley and Leicester City, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Burnley and Leicester City will each be seeking a return to winning ways when they face off at Turf Moor on Wednesday evening.

The Clarets went down 4-0 to Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend and are now winless in three, while Leicester have lost back-to-back games in all competitions.

Match preview

Leicester's campaign is at risk of crumbling, much like it did last season, on the back of losses to Slavia Prague and Arsenal over the last week.

The Foxes were stunned by Slavia in the Europa League last 32, going down 2-0 on home soil in the second leg, before throwing away the lead to lose 3-1 to Arsenal in the league.

Youri Tielemans's early strike got Leicester off to a great start against the Gunners, but goals from David Luiz, Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe earned the points for Arsenal.

Despite the defeat, though, City remain third in the table and five points above fifth-placed Chelsea, with reigning champions Liverpool a further point behind.

With a growing list of injuries to contend with, the latest being influential midfielder Harvey Barnes, Rodgers will know the importance of stopping the rot in midweek.

Burnley are themselves looking to kickstart their campaign, however, having followed up home draws against Fulham and West Bromwich Albion with a heavy defeat at Tottenham.

Gareth Bale scored twice in Sunday's clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while Harry Kane and Lucas Moura also netted in the one-sided contest.

Two points from the last nine on offer, combined with Fulham showing signs of life, means that Burnley are now just five points above the relegation zone.

The Clarets' next three matches are all against sides in the top half, so that gap could well become even smaller by the time they travel to Southampton early next month.

Leicester were 4-2 winners when the sides met at the King Power Stadium earlier this season, but Burnley have won three of their last four against City in the league.

Team News

Burnley striker Chris Wood came through his cameo appearance against Tottenham without any issues and is in contention to start for the first time since the end of January.

Midfielder Dale Stephens is another who is back available after playing the final 10 minutes in North London.

Ashley Barnes and Johann Berg Gudmundsson remain sidelined, however, while Robbie Brady and Erik Pieters are not expected to recover from injury in time to play any part.

As for Leicester, they could be without as many as nine first-team players for this trip to Lancashire.

Barnes is set to miss at least the next six weeks after undergoing surgery on his patella, while James Maddison is a big fitness doubt.

Jamie Vardy is another who is not at 100% and has only found the net in one of his last 12 appearances in all competitions, though Rodgers is unlikely to leave him out here.

Burnley possible starting lineup:
Pope; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor; Brownhill, Westwood, Stephens, McNeil; Wood, Rodriguez

Leicester City possible starting lineup:
Schmeichel; Castagne, Evans, Soyuncu, Thomas; Ndidi, Tielemans; Pereira, Under, Albrighton; Vardy

We say: Burnley 0-1 Leicester City

Injury-hit Leicester cannot afford for their losing run to stretch into a third game, particularly with the chasing pack - Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham - closing in.

No team has won more away Premier League games this season than City's nine and, against a struggling Burnley side, we can see them getting back to winning ways at Turf Moor.
