A Yoni Buyens penalty was enough for Charlton Athletic as they beat Watford 1-0 in the Championship after surviving a late rally from the visitors.
Hornets Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes was booked after he brought down Jordan Cousins inside the area and Buyens made no mistake from 12 yards.
Johann Berg Gudmundsson, who had earlier been shown a yellow card, was brought off on the half-hour mark with an injury, with Lawrie Wilson replacing him.
The visitors were denied a good shout for a penalty when Troy Deeney appeared to have been brought down by Tal Ben Haim, but referee Robert Madley waved away protests from the Hornets.
Deeney thought that he had his side back in it on 71 minutes, but the striker's effort was ruled out for offside after Lloyd Dyer's shot had struck the post.
Oscar Garcia's side missed a number of chances late on as the Addicks held on to take the points at The Valley, despite six nervy minutes of added time.
