Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Borussia Dortmund

:Headline: Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Borussia Dortmund:
Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's Champions League last-16 second leg against Borussia Dortmund.
Sports Mole

With 90 minutes left to save their Champions League bacon, Chelsea host Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of their last-16 affair at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening.

A sensational Karim Adeyemi goal saw the German giants emerge victorious via a 1-0 scoreline in the first leg on February 15, as BVB endeavour to add another blot onto the Graham Potter notebook.

However, the under-fire Chelsea boss oversaw a much-needed 1-0 win over Leeds United in Saturday's Premier League contest courtesy of Wesley Fofana's second-half header.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the visit of Dortmund, who got the better of RB Leipzig 2-1 in Bundesliga action on Friday.

N'Golo Kante

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: March 11 (vs. Leicester City)

N'Golo Kante recently made his return to first-team training following hamstring surgery, but having not featured for Chelsea since August, the Frenchman will not be considered for selection just yet as he builds up his fitness.

Armando Broja

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Armando Broja is on the long road to recovery from a knee injury sustained against Aston Villa in a winter friendly, and he will not play again this season.

Edouard Mendy

Status: Out
Type of injury: Finger
Possible return date: April 1 (vs. Aston Villa)

Edouard Mendy is still waiting for his first post-World Cup appearance in Chelsea blue due to a fractured finger, and the Senegal international is yet to return to full training, so will miss out here.

Cesar Azpilicueta

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Concussion
Possible return date: March 7 (vs. Dortmund)

Cesar Azpilicueta completed the necessary concussion protocols for the Leeds game after spending time in hospital with a head injury, but he was not considered for selection by Potter, who may also avoid taking any risks on the Spaniard this week as well.

Thiago Silva

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: April 15 (vs. Brighton & Hove Albion)

Thiago Silva came off with a knee injury during Chelsea's loss to Tottenham Hotspur at the end of February, and the veteran centre-back will spend around six weeks recovering, rendering him unavailable until the middle of April.

Reece James

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: March 7 (vs. Dortmund)

Reece James was not risked for the win over Leeds after complaining of hamstring tightness, but a weekend's worth of rest means that he is in with a strong chance of returning for the second leg.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Mason Mount

Status: Out
Possible return date: March 11 (vs. Leicester City)

Mason Mount - who missed Saturday's win against Leeds with an abdominal problem - picked up his third Champions League yellow card in the first leg and will therefore sit out Tuesday's reunion through suspension.
